I didnt build this site to make money, I made it to share photos with my family and friends in the first place.
But I know that it is possible to make money on the Internet. So I started to do something for it.First I have optimized pages for SE. It is called SEO - Search Engine Optimization. With this CMS - content management script it was not difficult.I had to enable mod_rewrite which actualy turns dynamic pages to pages that are more user and SE friendly... static pages.So instead of link like this http://www.thedino.com/index.php?module=Submit_News you can have easy link like this http://www.thedino.com/Submit_News.html Some SE dont like those = or ? so they dont list all pages.Other think I did is change of the META TAGS. They are changing depending the page so almost every page has also unique TITLE, Description and Keywords. Lets say that here is more than 5000 photographs and lets say that each has its name so I should have indexed 5000 pages in Google. There is actualy listed over 22000 pages. Unfortunately not all photographs have description or description is in Czech language so there is not much visitors. But just try to imagine it would have english description and name than you have so many pages and there is chance that there will be comming few visitors to your site.Now I get around 20 visitors per day. It is nothing but still I checked Google AdSense stats and in last 6 days I made $0.54 that should make over $2 per month.Target is 200 visitors which should make $20 per month.If you dont have AdSense yet and you have website than use this link Monetize your website with Google AdSense
I belive these adverts are not anoying yet but it works little bit. So finaly this page is making some money.
